NATIONAL RIFLE ASSOCIATION POLITICAL VICTORY FUND
STANDS WITH REPRESENTATIVE DAVID SIMPSON
(Longview) – Representative David Simpson (R-Longview) today announced the support of the National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA) in his bid for re-election to the Texas House, District 7.
“NRA is proud to endorse State Representative David Simpson for re-election to the Texas House. As a life member of the NRA and Concealed Handgun Licensee, David Simpson knows firsthand the importance of protecting the Second Amendment and preserving our right to self-defense. And his record in the Texas House demonstrates his strong commitment to both," said Tara Reilly Mica, state liaison for the NRA - Institute for Legislative Action.
Rep. Simpson responded, “I am very grateful for the support of both the NRA and the Texas State Rifle Association. The Second Amendment is a very important safeguard to our freedoms. In Texas, we proudly ‘cling to our guns.’”
The Texas State Rifle Association has also endorsed Rep. Simpson, rating him one of just nine House candidates worthy of an A+ voting record.
Representative Simpson defeated 14-year incumbent Tommy Merritt in the 2010 primary by running on a platform of defending the Constitution, preserving East Texas family values, and restoring government to its proper, limited role. In only one session, Simpson earned the “Taxpayer Champion” award from Texans for Fiscal Responsibility and the “Freshman of the Year” award from Young Conservatives of Texas; he was also named “Co-MVP of the Freshman Class” by Capitol Inside for his effectiveness as a legislator.

“David is the only conservative candidate in the race. His opponent’s voting record has been very liberal.”
“David Simpson has proven himself to be a champion of conservative values and common sense government. David’s leadership and willingness to serve the people are qualities that are so desperately needed in government today.”

A very big thank you to the more than 550 supporters who have contributed to our campaign. This is a team effort, and we're very blessed to have hundreds of you who have contributed.
The Longview News-Journal / Longview Chamber of Commerce candidate forum Tuesday evening made one thing very clear...again. There is a fundamental difference between my opponent and I, and that is our belief about the role of government.
