Standing together, we won a decisive victory last night! Thank you very much for all of your efforts on behalf of liberty in Texas. They paid off!
Despite being outspent about two-to-one, and despite the barage of misleading negative attacks, our message of conservative statesmanship won the day.
The "good ole' boy politics" of yesterday are on the way out. Principles and freedom are on the way in! You proved that it's not only possible to get re-elected after standing on principle, but that the people of Texas overwhelmingly prefer courageous conservative leadership to the status quo.
Truly, the patriot dream is still alive. The message of indiviual freedom and responsibility resonates with the people more than ever. The Constitution and the purpose of government have once more taken center stage in the minds of voters. Smaller and limited government is our goal, and we will stand together to achieve it.
Thousands of you once again voted to place your trust in me, and I pledge to honor that trust to the best of my ability.
Now, as we begin to prepare for the next session and the battles ahead, I ask for your continued prayers and input that I may be able to serve you ably and in a godly manner.
Evidence of your efforts and support:
- Over 1200 Texans endorsed our campaign, including over 1000 from District 7
- Over 600 people donated to the campaign
- Over 2000 yard signs were put out
- Thousands of houses were walked and called by myself and volunteers
- Over 2000 handwritten postcards were mailed
